Reimagined resort introduces 64 new rooms and elevated experiences

One of Avani’s earliest properties to launch back in 2015, Avani+Barbarons Seychelles is set to reopen for summer from 16 June 2025 following a multi-million-dollar, four-year renovation.

The news comes as Expedia reports the Seychelles is a trending destination for UAE travellers, with online searches for holidays here from June to August 2025 showing 90% year-on-year growth.

Located on the west coast of Mahé Island, just 30 minutes from Seychelles International Airport, the reimagined beachfront resort will introduce a refreshed look, new dining options and elevated guest experiences.

Championing a minimalist style, designed to bring the outdoors in, the upgraded resorts features natural wood, picture windows and partially outdoor bathrooms.

The existing 124 rooms and suites have all been refurbished, and a further 68 have been added as part of a completely new extension, bringing the total number of keys to 192. This includes the introduction of Avani Beach suites with private plunge pools and Lagoon Access Rooms that bring guests closer to the resort’s expanded lagoon-style pool.

Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the Indian Ocean property also provides direct access to pristine white-sand beaches, including Barbarons Beach on which the resort sits and nearby Port Launay Beach, ideal for snorkelling and water sports.

There’s also the AvaniSpa, three ocean-facing meeting spaces and curated guest experiences.
