4 New European flights added to FlyDubai’s network

UAE low-cost carrier to fly to cities in Moldova, Romania, Latvia and Lithuania

UAE-based Flydubai is set to launch four flights connecting Dubai in the UAE with new destinations in Europe, as the low-cost carrier opens up to underserved markets.

New network destinations focus on Eastern Europe and the Baltic region and include Moldova’s capital Chișinău, as well as Iași in Romania, making Flydubai the first UAE carrier to offer direct flights to the Romanian city.

The airline will also enter the Baltic region for the first time, offering direct services to Riga and Vilnius, the capital cities of Latvia and Lithuania, respectively.

This latest move expands the carrier’s network to more than 135 destinations, with 35 across 20 countries in Europe, 75% of which are underserved routes from Dubai.

Twice-weekly flights will connect Dubai International (DXB) with Chișinău International Airport (RMO) from 17 September, and DXB with Iași International Airport (IAS) from 19 September, with fares for both services ranging between AED1,600 and AED8,000.

Situated on the river Bîc, Moldova’s capital Chișinău is considered one of Europe’s greenest cities, known for its historic white limestone buildings and sprawling natural parks, and is home to the biggest underground wine cellar in the world and plenty of wine-tasting tours. Romania's second-largest city, Iași is also one of the oldest cities in the country, combining historical sites and charming neighbourhoods.

Connecting Dubai with the Baltic states for the first time, thrice-weekly flights will link DXB with Vilnius International Airport (VNO) from 11 December, and with Riga International Airport (RIX) from 12 December. Fares range from AED1,800 to AED7,500.

As capital cities of these Baltic states, Riga in Latvia and Vilnius in Lithuania are both home to Unesco World Heritage old towns, combining historic streets and striking architecture with vibrant art and culinary scenes.

Commenting on the launch, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at Flydubai, said: “With our new services to Eastern Europe and the Baltic region, we look forward to strengthening the UAE’s trade and cultural links and supporting Dubai’s position as an international aviation hub.”

From 5 June, Flydubai is also set to introduce summer flights to Antalya in Türkiye, a coastal destination that combines Mediterranean beaches and ancient historical sites such as Hadrian’s Gate.

Flydubai posted record annual results for 2024, with revenue, profits and passenger numbers all reaching new heights. The airline carried 15.4 million passengers in 2024, up 11%, and serves more than 130 destinations in 55 countries.
