Zélia Resort & Spa Halkidiki to open in Greece in 2025

Adults-only hotel blends biophilic design with holistic wellness

Set to open its doors in April 2025, Zélia Resort & Spa Halkidiki brings high dining and holistic wellness to the northern Greece peninsula. 

Set between the Aegean Sea and Mount Olympus on the Kassandra coastline of the Halkidiki peninsula in northern Greece, the adults-only resort is conveniently located to explore the region’s highlights, from gold-sand beaches to forested hills. 

Thessaloniki International Airport is a 30-minute drive away, while Halkidiki’s second-largest city Nea Moudania can be reached in 25 minutes. It’s just a short stroll from the resort down a coastal path to the beach. 

Nestled within landscaped grounds, the 104 rooms and suites offer sweeping views of the Aegean sea or the lush gardens. The Swim-up Suite comes with a spacious private terrace and pool, while the two-storey Loft Sea View Suite features a balcony.

Interiors are bohemian-inspired, blending earthy tones with striking black accents and bespoke artwork, and in-room luxuries include rain showers, pillow menus, Smart TVs, Nespresso coffee machines and daily restocked minibars. 

Zélia’s all-inclusive offering means guests can dine freely across the restaurants and bars throughout their stay.

Overseen by Chef Vassili Papatheodorou, the former Executive Chef of Nobu in St Moritz, Paris, restaurants include: Shizen offering Japanese-Peruvian cuisine; Mesogaea delivering Mediterranean flavours, and Zest dishing up poolside salads and sourdough pizzas. An immersive farm-to-table experience lets guests pluck fresh herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden before dining on dishes using the ingredients in a lovely olive grove.

Handcrafted cocktails are mixed at Hebe, an outdoor lounge with fire pits and plush sofas where DJs soundtrack the sunset.

Facilities include two pools, a beach with sun loungers, the Zélia Amazonia Spa with a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, sensory showers, sauna and steam room, and a gym offering Reformer Pilates and bespoke workouts with personal trainers. 

An around-the-clock concierge can curate tours and activities, from guided hikes to Petralona Cave to kayaking adventures and e-bike forest tours.
