Norwegian Cruise Line takes delivery of Aqua

First ship in expanded Prima Plus Class is 10% bigger than previous Prima Class vessels

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has taken delivery of Norwegian Aqua, the first ship in its expanded Prima Plus Class.

The delivery ceremony took place at the Venice shipyard where the vessel is being built by Fincantieri.

Norwegian Aqua is 10% larger than the first two ships in the Prima Class, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva, and features Ocean Boulevard, the largest 360-degree outdoor promenade ever built.

The ship will offer several unique experiences, including the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster with a water slide, the Glow Court interactive digital sports complex and the Aqua Game Zone, for immersive games and virtual reality.

Norwegian Aqua will take 2000 travel trade and media partners on a five-day trip from Lisbon to Southampton in March 2024.

Norwegian Cruise Line has named actor Eric Stonestreet as godfather of Norwegian Aqua. He will name the line’s first Prima Plus Class ship on April 13 in Miami.

After its maiden voyage, Norwegian Aqua will operate seven-day Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral in Florida from 26 April 2025.
